Wherever you live, you live in a watershed. A watershed is the area of land – our green valleys – that drains into a stream, wetland, river or seeps into the groundwater. Watersheds come in all shapes and sizes. They cross our municipal, county, and state boundaries. Watersheds are the link between our land, our water and our communities because the quality of our water is affected by how we use the land surrounding it. Healthy watersheds are vital to people, fish, and wildlife. No matter where you live you are in a watershed.
